SoulGreens Founder, Kartik Patel is the owner and CEO of a software business with a history of urban gardening and farming deeply rooted in family and encouraged by his grandmother who guided and coached his passion during his formative years, nurturing his love for the earth and for fresh and healthy foods. The years passed, and life was filled with education and a career, but Kartik’s passion for healthy foods and working with the earth never left his mind. With the support and encouragement of his family, his mother, and his wife, Sujata, Kartik pursued his passion, spending countless hours honing growing processes and methods. Beginning with a terrace garden, and working up to a small urban farm, Kartik spent the past few years experimenting, researching and producing a wealth of fruits and vegetables for his family and friends to enjoy.
Marrying his experience in business with his love of naturally sourced foods, Kartik created a wholesome, fresh, farm environment, founded on a knowledge base from experienced farmers and agronomists. Today, the dream is evolving, and, while the SoulGreens story is in its early stages, the team is building a sustainable, natural source of pesticide and chemical free fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, and millets to supply the surrounding community with healthy produce, to network with like-minded farmers and to educate the community.
SoulGreens is a family farm, located in Ahmedabad, in state of Gujarat in India, and it produces multiple varieties of seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as grains, and pulses, and millets. The farm is designed to include an agroforestry approach to ensure that the site and the ecosystem are sustainable, natural and beautiful. A drip water irrigation system is used throughout the farm with rain water recharging, reverse borewells to return rain water back to the earth, as well as a state-of-the-art pack house, workers quarters, a store room, a tool room, and an administrative office – an environment designed to produce fresh, healthy produce, and to preserve nutrients.
Our team members are integral part of the SoulGreens family, and they are the real heroes. They are dedicated to producing the best, highest-quality fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, and millets, and they enjoy an ergonomic, balanced life style and working conditions.
Combining Kartik’s knowledge of technology with his love of the earth, the SoulGreens approach to innovation includes technologies to support both the farm and business aspects of the SoulGreens environment and to ensure a sustainable, rapid delivery system for fresh produce for our partners and consumers.
SoulGreens will expand the current wholesale delivery model to include a consumer channel with the goal of delivering vegetables and fruits to the consumer community within ten (10) hours of harvest for the freshest experience ever!
SoulGreens will open the farm for tours and educational visits.
